Our ink language: text stamped from a real ink-scan, and the collection marks kept exactly as they are on the live site, their own natural brush texture, untouched. Below: two light edge-bleed options for text, the wordmark in real ink-scan, and the live marks recolored.
Edge bleed · experiments
Two light ways the ink edge can meet the paper on text: a tight feathered fringe, or a slight directional wick. Same phrase, sumi on washi. Kept restrained on purpose, the heavy water blooms were too much.
Baked wordmark
Where we want a specific, identical-everywhere look, we bake it once. Left is where we are now. Right is the same wordmark in a real ink-scan, the chosen treatment for text, the ink pools and starves like a genuine print.
The collection marks, stamped
The live-site marks, their own natural brush texture, no ink-bleed processing added. The only cleanup is knocking out the faint paper haze around them so nothing bleeds through on dark grounds. One alpha file each, recolored in CSS, so the same mark becomes cream, vermillion, terracotta or gold on its ground.
